The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) is U.S. legislation enacted by U.S. Congress to prevent tax evasion by U.S. persons through the use of foreign accounts and to assist the IRS in identifying those accounts. FATCA rules are wide-ranging and are forcing global financial institutions, investment entities, as well as national banks and other financial organizations to report to the IRS certain account information on their U.S. customers and non-compliant FFIs. Join our special guests from Hardin Compliance Consulting LLC as we highlight key elements of the legislation relevant to investment advisers and discuss easy to implement practices for staying compliant.
Matthew S. Hardin, Esq., President and CEO and Denise D. Alfieri, Senior Compliance Consultant of Hardin Compliance Consulting LLC provide their perspective on FATCA and considerations for Investment Advisers.
